Learn New Zealand Sign Language in this 7 weeks Beginner 1a course. Suitable for those students with no knowledge or basic knowledge of NZSL. Students prefer face-to-face learning and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people. The course will cover topics, see the Learning Outcomes.Date and Time:

Aims of course NZSL Level 1b is a follow up course to NZSL level 1a (approximately 12-14 hours of NZSL tuition). This course will focus on receptive skills and mastering functions in NZSL.Date and Time:

Course Overview:
NZSL level 1c is a follow up course to NZSL level 1b (approximately 30 hours of NZSL tuition). Learners will work towards the following goals:- Understand and use NZSL in simple conversations on familiar topics.
- Understand and use basic grammatical structures of NZSL in simple sentences or questions.
- Appropriately use visual conversational behaviours in NZSL.
- Show basic understanding and awareness of Deaf culture and community in New Zealand.

Course Overview:
NZSL level 1d is a follow up course to NZSL level 1c (approximately 45 hours of NZSL tuition). By the end of NZSL level 1, learners will be able to:- understand and use NZSL in simple conversations on familiar topics
- understand and use basic grammatical structures of NZSL in simple sentences or questions.
- appropriately use visual conversational behaviours in NZSL.
- show basic understanding and awareness of Deaf culture and community in New Zealand.
