Learn New Zealand Sign Language in this combined 7-week Beginner 1C & 1D course. This Wednesday class brings the two levels together for shared learning and practice.

Description

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this combined Beginner 1C & 1D course, learners will learn:

Unit 6: Small Talk

  • Start conversations with known and unknown people
  • Make compliments (e.g., appearance, clothing) and congratulations
  • Ask and tell about general wellbeing, health, and everyday life
  • Discuss the weather
  • Close a conversation

Unit 7: Community and Work

  • Communicate about essential services and locations in their community (e.g., doctor, bank, library)
  • Describe occupations, tasks, and transport in relation to work and community activities
  • Negotiate appointments and bookings
  • Discuss prices on the use of services and purchases, and ways of payment

 

$175 for 7 weeks course including e-certificate, e-handouts and homework.

Notes: Please note that registering online confirms your place in the course. Minimum number of students applies – if the minimum numbers are not meet course may be postponed or cancelled. Please read our cancellation policy. Registration closes two weeks before the start of each course, so make sure you don’t miss out on your secure space.

    NZSL level 2b is a follow up course to NZSL level 2a. This course will extend the receptive and expressive skills of students at an intermediate level. This course is suitable for those who have completed at least 75 hours of NZSL tuition.

    NZSL Level 1a Beginner Course

    Course Overview:

    Learn New Zealand Sign Language in this 7 weeks Beginner 1a course. Suitable for those students with no knowledge or basic knowledge of NZSL. Students prefer face-to-face learning and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people.  The course will cover topics, see the Learning Outcomes.
