    Aims of course NZSL Level 1b is a follow up course to NZSL level 1a (approximately 12-14 hours of NZSL tuition). This course will focus on receptive skills and mastering functions in NZSL.

    NZSL level 1d is a follow up course to NZSL level 1c (approximately 45 hours of NZSL tuition). By the end of NZSL level 1, learners will be able to:
    • understand and use NZSL in simple conversations on familiar topics
    • understand and use basic grammatical structures of NZSL in simple sentences or questions.
    • appropriately use visual conversational behaviours in NZSL.
    • show basic understanding and awareness of Deaf culture and community in New Zealand.
